Photographer: Ann Card
After Hurricane Katrina ravaged much of the American South, photographer Ann Card, a regular Yankee Magazine contributor, started a non-profit organization to help victims of the hardest-hit areas. Most of the efforts by both the government and international aid organizations concentrated on New Orleans and Louisiana, but Mississippi was devastated too, and it is the poorest state in the US. I designed their logo and website pro bono. I found out much later that a very similar logo solution exists for another non-profit organization, but by then the Mississippi home again project was wrapping up, and there was no need for a redesign.
